Teaching assistant at UBA

Affiliated lawyer

UBA law graduate practising in immigration and administrative law

Dr Gastón Blanco holds a Law Degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and has over five years of professional experience. He is part of ST Abogados’ network of affiliated lawyers, with a practice focused on immigration and administrative law.

His work includes analysing residence status, cancellation of residence, deportation, refusal of entry and re-entry bans, as well as appeals against decisions by the immigration authority. The assessment starts with the case file, the decision issued, the date of notification and the available documents.

He is a teaching assistant in Advanced Constitutional Law and Professional Practice at UBA. This teaching work relates to central aspects of his practice: due process, reasons for decisions, reasonableness and effective judicial protection.

When an immigration matter is linked to a criminal case, a criminal record or a restrictive measure, he works in coordination with the firm’s criminal law team. The aim is to assess the status of both sets of proceedings and determine the next steps in light of the circumstances of the case.

How each consultation is approached

Status of the proceedings

Reconstructing the procedure, residence status, formal notices and decisions issued to identify the specific issue.

Decision, notification and time limits

Evidence and strategy

Organising background information and documents to assess review options and their effects on immigration status.

Working with the ST Abogados team

Gastón Blanco works as an affiliated lawyer in immigration and administrative matters. Where a matter involves a criminal case, criminal records, convictions or measures that may affect immigration status, the assessment is coordinated with the criminal law team led by Dr Jacobo Iván Selser.
